Lesson 1
We begin with Paul’s visit to Athens as recorded in the Bible, in the book of Acts, chapter seventeen. Paul - the first Christian missionary to Athens - “was greatly distressed to see that the city was full of idols.”
All people are born knowing there is some kind of god. This knowledge of a god - that we are all born with - is called the natural knowledge of God.
The main theme of this lesson is that the Bible contains the truth about the one and only true God who loves us and saves us. The Bible tells us who God is and what He has done for all of humankind.
“Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not
all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.” Romans 12:4-5
